The Joint Forces thwart an imminent land and sea attack by the Houthis in Hodeidah
The military media of the joint Yemeni forces announced on Wednesday that they had thwarted an imminent land and sea attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia aimed at achieving a breakthrough towards the city of Hodeidah.
The military media said in a statement, that the Iranian-backed Houthis tried to take advantage of the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, arranged a large-scale attack on the joint forces' positions in Mandhar district in Hodeidah city, but the attack was thwarted by the joint forces.
A unit of the joint forces captured an advanced Houthi reconnaissance member before giving the signal to start the attack. The reconnaissance member had been assigned a two-stage suicide infiltration mission through fishermen's boats. The statement said.
The confessions of the captured reconnaissance member revealed the details of the Houthi attack plan that had been prepared through two "land - sea" axes. The statement added.
The statement affirmed that the Houthi militia’s attack plan on Mandhar district, which was thwarted, is a serious violation of the Sweden Agreement and an indication of the militias' tendency to breach the agreement at any time with the aim of achieving field gains on the ground.
