Houthi missile attack kills 17 civilians in Marib, Yemen

Seventeen civilians, including a girl, were killed, and others were injured on Saturday, as a result of a missile attack by the Houthi militia targeted a fuel station in the city of Ma'rib (northeast of Yemen).

The Houthi missile attack, which targeted civilians and service facilities, came as an explicit response to their intentions towards peace efforts that the international community is seeking with the Iranian-backed militia in Yemen.

Local sources said that the human losses as a result of the attack in the city center with a Houthi ballistic missile, amounted to 17 civilians, including a girl, and the injury of others, in addition to material damage to property.

The sources indicated that the bodies of the victims were charred as a result of the fire that broke out at the gas station. Activists circulated a photo of the charred body of a girl who was killed as a result of the criminal attack.

Since the beginning of this year, the Houthi militia has intensified their attacks using ballistic missiles and drones on the city of Marib, which is densely populated and displaced people, most of the victims are women and children.

The attack came less than 24 hours after a US State Department statement revealed the extent of Houthi arrogance, undermining peace efforts in the country.
