A Houthi missile strikes a Mosque in Shabwa, casualties reported
A missile launched by the Houthis on Saturday struck a mosque inside Al Alam base in Shabwa province (northeast of Yemen).
According to a military source, the Houthi militia fired a ballistic missile at a mosque in Ataq district, the moment the Maghrib prayer was performed, causing casualties among civilians.
The violent strike also terrified civilians, especially women and children.
Ambulances rushed to the site, took the wounded to Ataq Hospital. While medical sources reported that a number of victims were seriously injured.
So far, no official statistics have been received about the number of casualties and the extent of losses caused by the missile strike.
This comes hours after a Houthi booby-trapped drone targeted Al-Wahda School in Harib district of Marib governorate, which resulted in the injury of three children.
The Iran-backed Houthis have resorted to targeting mosques and schools, in response to the losses on various fronts, and as a form of collective punishment imposed on citizens, amid suspicious international silence.
