Iran-backed Houthis arrest a number of officers in Sanaa: Sources

The Iran-backed Houthis carried out a large-scale campaign of arrests, targeting dozens of members of the ministries of interior and defense in the militia-controlled areas, during the past few days.
 
Members of the so-called Preventive Security (a Houthi's intelligence service) carried out a large-scale campaign of arrests and raids on the homes of officers and non-commissioned officers from the Ministries of Interior and Defense who refused to fight with the Houthis, amid the cut of salaries and the difficult economic situation experienced by most of the employees in the militia-controlled areas. Intelligence sources told Khabar Agency.
 
The Houthi campaign came in conjunction with the militia incurring heavy losses in battles and airstrikes.
 
The Houthis resorted to arresting the military and security members to force them to join their futile war. The sources said.
 
According to the sources, "They threatened the families of the arrested officers not to communicate with the media".
 
The Houthis are witnessing disputes among their security leaders, amid mutual accusations of insecurity. The sources said.
