Yemen: Houthis Mass Troops Near Marib Fronts
The Iran-backed Houthi militia has deployed significant military reinforcements to the fronts of Marib Governorate, moves that field sources describe as preparation for a broad offensive against government and tribal positions in the Al-Kassarah and Raghwan sectors.
Tribal sources reported that the militia has amassed a large number of fighters and vehicles towards Al-Libnat camp, while simultaneously dispatching other forces and machinery towards the Bir Al-Maraziq area. These actions are part of intensified military arrangements aimed at escalating combat operations in the governorate.
According to the sources, the Houthi militia believes that the tribes' preoccupation with the "Matareh Al-Karama" issue in the Al-Rayan region of Al-Jawf Governorate has led to the withdrawal of fighters from the front lines. The militia views this as an opportune moment to launch an attack that could enable them to advance towards the city of Marib.
The sources further indicated that the Houthi reinforcements include new military vehicles and equipment not previously deployed in earlier battles. Some of these, they noted, are still in their original packaging, suggesting the introduction of modern equipment to the operational theater in anticipation of potential confrontations.
