Yemeni Tribes Attack Houthi Checkpoints After Deadly Ambush

Tribes in Yemen's Al Jawf province launched an offensive against Houthi militia checkpoints late Saturday, following the killing of three tribesmen and the injury of two others by militia members at a checkpoint in the Al Mahir area. The incident triggered ongoing armed confrontations.

Tribal sources reported that the deceased were identified as Hamad bin Hadi Bakhran, Hamad Musfir bin Shenan, and Mubarak Abdullah Ali Shenan. Abdulrab Mansour and Mohsen bin Saleh Zahban were wounded after militia members opened fire on them at the Al Mahir checkpoint following a verbal altercation.

Following the incident, armed individuals from the Al Ja'id-Daham tribe attacked a Houthi checkpoint in the Al Yatmh area, as well as the Al Mahir checkpoint located in the Afi area of Bart Al-Anan district. Reports indicate that the tribesmen successfully took control of both checkpoints.

According to the sources, the attack resulted in the deaths of four Houthi militia members. Precise casualty figures for the militia remain unconfirmed. The clashes are reported to be ongoing, with no definitive final toll available for either side at the time of reporting.
