Houthi Forces Conduct Forced Recruitment Drive in Hodeidah

Houthi militias carried out an extensive recruitment campaign in the Al-Zahra district of Hodeidah province, forcibly enlisting dozens of young men and dispatching them to front lines.

According to local sources, the militia established a gathering point in the Al-Ma'tar market on Saturday evening. Houthi vehicles were deployed across several villages and hamlets within the district to collect and transport young men to this central location. Testimonies indicate that some youths were coerced into joining the militia, while others were forcibly removed from their homes.

Eyewitnesses at the Al-Ma'tar market reported observing dozens of young men being rounded up and brought to the market over the past few hours.

The recruitment efforts reportedly extended to numerous areas and villages in the district, including Al-Ma'tar, Markudah, Mahall Ghadar, Al-Zahra, Deir Qa'amuss, Deir Ma'dhabi, Nu'man, Kandawa, Al-Mi'ras, Al-Khamis, Makamliya, Al-Rassafa, Masalliba, Al-Raf'i, Al-Dhahir, Deir Rajih, Deir Masid, Muqnimah, and Jabal Mulh, among other villages.

These actions coincide with recent military escalations observed on the southern front of Hodeidah province and other battlefronts in recent hours.
