Houthi Shelling Targets Village in West Taiz, Triggering Civilian Displacement

Houthi militia forces launched a projectile attack on the village of Al-Tamara, located near the Mafraq Al-Makha junction in the Mawza district of western Taiz, causing widespread terror, property damage, and livestock losses.

Local sources reported that the projectile was fired from Houthi-controlled positions in the Al-Barh area. The sudden bombardment struck the residential area, resulting in significant distress among the local population and the destruction of private property, including the loss of several head of livestock.

The intensity of the attack has forced a number of families to flee their homes, seeking refuge in displacement camps and safer locations within the Mafraq Al-Makha region. Residents expressed deep concerns regarding the safety of their families, fearing that the militia will continue its pattern of indiscriminate aggression against the area.

This assault coincides with a broader Houthi campaign involving ballistic missile strikes targeting various civilian sites and infrastructure across the West Coast. These attacks have consistently resulted in material damage and have disrupted the lives of local residents.

Since July 2, Houthi attacks on densely populated areas in the West Coast districts have escalated significantly. The ongoing violence has displaced hundreds of families, compounding the already severe humanitarian and economic crisis facing the region's inhabitants.
