Al-Dhalea Governor Declares State of Emergency Following Deadly Ambush

Governor of Al-Dhalea, Major General Ahmed Qaid Al-Qubba, has declared a state of emergency in the city following a fatal armed ambush that resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and the injury of a third. The victims were targeted while returning from the Al-Mokha front, and their weapons were seized by the assailants.

The announcement followed an emergency security meeting chaired by the Governor to address the surge in highway robberies and to reinforce security protocols across the province. The session was attended by high-ranking military and security officials, including the Director of Political Security, Brigadier General Abdul-Qawi Al-Zubair, and the Director of Al-Dhalea Police, Brigadier General Aidaroos Al-Thuwair, alongside local tribal leaders and representatives of the victims' families.

Governor Al-Qubba condemned the attack and ordered security and military forces to launch an immediate operation to track down and apprehend the perpetrators. He emphasized that strict legal measures would be enforced against anyone found involved in the crime, as well as those providing shelter or support to the suspects.

Participants in the meeting asserted that acts of banditry pose a direct threat to the stability of the province and contradict the values held by the people of Al-Dhalea. The committee further analyzed the broader implications of these attacks, describing them as deliberate attempts to undermine the internal security of the region amid ongoing military tensions with Houthi militias.

Local authorities have called upon the residents and tribal elders of Al-Dhalea to cooperate fully with security forces and to withhold any tribal protection from those responsible for the violence. The provincial leadership reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law, noting that the ongoing security campaign will continue until all suspects are brought to justice.
