Yemeni Government Forces Recapture Strategic Positions in Western Taiz

Yemeni government forces successfully regained control of several positions in western Taiz on Sunday, following a series of tactical maneuvers to repel Houthi insurgent infiltrations and advance into new territories.

According to a military source cited by the Armed Forces Media Center, government troops reclaimed high-ground positions overlooking the Jardad area in the Ash-Shamayatayn District. The forces subsequently pushed toward the Ghayl Bani Umar region as part of a broader offensive aimed at dismantling Houthi control across the governorate.

During the intense confrontations, government forces seized various weapons and military equipment from the retreating Houthi units. While the military source confirmed that the insurgents suffered significant human casualties during the engagement, a precise count of the losses has not yet been established.

Simultaneously, coalition aircraft conducted a series of precision airstrikes targeting Houthi positions, staging areas, and logistics lines throughout Taiz. These operations focused on the Dhubab, Al-Wazi'iyah, and Hayfan districts, as well as the Afirah region in the Jabal Habashi District.

The aerial bombardment resulted in the destruction of several military vehicles and the detonation of a munitions cache containing medium-caliber weaponry. Reports indicate that at least ten Houthi militants were killed during these specific strikes.

These developments unfold amid a period of heightened military escalation within the Taiz governorate. Front lines across the region continue to witness sporadic clashes as government forces persist in their efforts to expand operational reach and secure critical strategic vantage points.
