Fatal Shooting Incident Reported in Sanaa’s Al-Jeraf District

A Houthi militant and a civilian were killed, while a Houthi officer and another individual sustained injuries during a violent shooting incident in the Al-Jeraf district of Sanaa.

Local sources reported that the confrontation originated several days ago following a dispute between several individuals in a neighborhood near the Central Prison in Al-Jeraf. The altercation escalated into an armed clash, resulting in initial injuries among the parties involved.

Following the initial unrest, a Houthi security patrol arrived at the scene and detained several youths involved in the dispute, along with eyewitnesses, before departing toward the 26th of September police station. According to the reports, an individual identified as Malik Al-Muznaji followed the patrol on a motorcycle, opened fire on the occupants from multiple directions, and subsequently fled the scene.

The exchange of fire resulted in the death of Houthi soldier Ahmed Tariq Al-Kamil and one of the detainees, identified as Mohammed Akram Al-Antari. A Houthi officer and another detainee were also wounded during the attack. Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the perpetrator's status or potential additional arrests.
