Coalition Forces Strike Houthi Ballistic Missile Sites in Sanaa and Saada
The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Tuesday the destruction of a ballistic missile launch platform in Sanaa and a storage facility in Saada containing approximately 20 ballistic missiles, marking a significant escalation in efforts to neutralize Houthi military capabilities.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the coalition conducted precision strikes against the launch site in the Houthi-controlled capital of Sanaa, while simultaneously targeting a mountain depot in Saada, the militant group’s northern stronghold. The coalition released aerial footage documenting the successful strike and the subsequent secondary explosions triggered by the destruction of the missile cache.
These operations follow a series of military actions announced by coalition spokesperson Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, who confirmed that naval forces had engaged Houthi military installations in the western province of Hodeidah. The naval operation successfully destroyed warehouses containing weaponized boats and sea mines, effectively preempting planned attacks against international shipping lanes in the southern Red Sea.
General Al-Maliki emphasized that the maritime intervention was critical to safeguarding navigation through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a vital global maritime artery. The coalition’s sustained aerial and naval campaign aims to disrupt the Houthi supply chain and prevent further regional destabilization.
The intensification of these strikes coincides with a broader military escalation across Yemen. Following the Yemeni government's announcement on Sunday of a new offensive to reclaim territory held by Houthi insurgents, coalition forces have increased the frequency of air sorties targeting strategic assets in Sanaa, Saada, and other contested regions.
