Houthi Mortar Attack Injures Women and Children in Taiz
A Houthi mortar strike on a residential neighborhood in the Al-Kulaibah area of Ma’afir district, located in western Taiz, has resulted in multiple injuries among women and children.
Local sources reported that the Houthi militia launched an indiscriminate and direct bombardment on civilian homes on Wednesday. The attack caused significant distress among the local population and left several victims wounded by shrapnel.
The injured were immediately transported to nearby medical facilities to receive necessary treatment and emergency care. In addition to the human casualties, the shelling caused extensive material damage to several residential properties within the area.
Eyewitnesses and local officials emphasized that the targeted district is a purely civilian zone, noting the absence of any armed combatants or military installations at the time of the attack. Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
