Government Forces Retake Strategic Position in Taiz as Airstrikes Target Houthi Positions

Government forces have successfully recaptured a strategic mountain position in Jabal Aswad, Taiz Governorate, following intense clashes with Houthi militia fighters who had recently seized the site in an attempt to encircle military personnel stationed at the Hangar checkpoint.

Field sources confirmed that the operation to retake the elevation resulted in the neutralization of all Houthi militants occupying the position. While the military successfully reclaimed the territory, official reports have yet to disclose the extent of casualties sustained by government forces during the engagement.

In a parallel development, the national air force conducted nine targeted airstrikes against Houthi positions and gatherings across several fronts in Taiz. These operations are part of an ongoing military campaign aimed at degrading the militia's operational capabilities in the region.

According to field reports, five of the airstrikes were directed at Houthi positions on the Al-Dhabab front, located west of Taiz city. An additional four strikes targeted militia strongholds in the Al-Masrakh district. Authorities have not yet released specific data regarding the total human or material losses resulting from the aerial bombardment.
