President Sisi Affirms Egypt’s Full Solidarity with Saudi Arabia Amid Regional Tensions
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has declared Egypt's complete solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pledging Cairo’s full support to safeguard the Kingdom's security, stability, and territorial integrity in response to escalating external aggression.
The announcement followed a meeting of the National Defense Council, chaired by President Sisi at the Itihadiya Palace this morning. According to the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, the council conducted a comprehensive review of current regional developments, addressing what was characterized as a dangerous escalation in the surrounding geopolitical landscape.
The council emphasized that Egypt’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia is rooted in the deep historical ties and strategic partnership between the two nations. It further asserted that the national security of the Kingdom is inextricably linked to both Egyptian and broader Arab national security, affirming Cairo's commitment to protecting the Kingdom's resources, sovereignty, and Islamic holy sites.
During the session, participants underscored the importance of continuing political and diplomatic efforts to mitigate regional volatility. The council committed to intensifying coordination with relevant regional and international stakeholders to contain the current escalation and promote the peaceful resolution of ongoing crises.
This official stance reflects Egypt’s broader strategic approach to regional stability, occurring amidst a series of Arab and international initiatives aimed at curbing the impact of recent tensions and preventing the further expansion of hostilities across the region.
