Egyptian Authorities Arrest Suspect in Murder of Two Yemeni Nationals in Giza

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday the arrest of a suspect accused of murdering two Yemeni women—an elderly woman and her daughter—inside their residence in the Al-Haram district of Giza. Authorities confirmed that all stolen property has been recovered.

According to an official statement, security services initiated an investigation following a report filed on August 27 by a friend of the victims. Law enforcement officials successfully identified and apprehended the suspect, who is a driver with a prior criminal record involving theft.

The ministry reported that the motive for the crime stemmed from a financial dispute. The suspect had allegedly demanded the return of funds he had previously provided to the victim; when she refused, he attacked both women with a stone object, resulting in fatal injuries to both.

Following the murders, the suspect reportedly stole various sums of money, gold jewelry, and two mobile phones before fleeing the scene. The ministry confirmed that the suspect led authorities to the location of the stolen items, all of which have been recovered as part of the ongoing investigation.
