Houthi Militia Pursues Youths in Dhamar's Al-Hada District
The Houthi militia has recently conducted a pursuit of several young men in the Al-Hada district of Dhamar governorate, following the defacement of its slogans in the town of Zarajah.
Local sources reported that the militia dispatched village elders in Zarajah to inform the parents of the youths to surrender them. A deadline was set for the end of the week for their handover to the security administration, with parents being held responsible for any failure to comply and threatened with arrest as substitutes for their sons.
The sources further indicated that the youths fled the town upon learning of the militia's pursuit and accusations that they were behind the defacement of slogans on government facilities under Houthi control.
In recent months, Houthi slogans have been defaced in several villages within the Al-Hada district, coinciding with growing popular rejection of the group. This sentiment is attributed to the militia's ongoing campaigns of repression and abduction against the district's residents, as well as tribal disputes that locals accuse the militia of instigating.
In a related incident, a tribal source stated that Houthi security vehicles raided the home of citizen Nasser Ahmed Mohammed Abu Atef, looting his personal belongings. Abu Atef has appealed to the Houthi leadership for justice and accountability for those responsible for the raid.
