Seven Yemeni children died from severe cold in a displaced camp

The Yemeni executive unit for managing camps for the displaced announced on Monday the death of 7 children due to the severe cold in Al-Ma’asher camp in Al-Wadi district of Marib governorate, northeastern Yemen.
 
The unit said that it had received distress calls from 67 camps through the Emergency and Early Warning Department through its field team in managing the sites from the effects of the recent cold and frost waves on the displaced families in the camps.
 
Last December, the Unit in Marib launched an urgent appeal to all United Nations agencies and civil society organizations, for rapid and emergency intervention in providing relief and assistance to displaced families in the camps, and the need to provide urgent assistance to these families and alleviate their suffering.
